1997 Subaru Impreza coupe

The Impreza is facelifted for 1997 with changes occuring in the front bumper, hood, and grille design. Impreza is still offered in coupe, sedan or wagon form. An Outback Sport version of the wagon appears featuring raised suspension, larger tires, and standard ABS. All-Wheel Drive is standard on all 1997 Imprezas.

1997 Subaru SVX

For 1997, the SVX receives a restyled grille and new 215/55 VR16 tires.

1997 Subaru Legacy sedan

All Legacy models include All-Wheel Drive for 1997. L model Legacys include the 2.2-liter engine, 4-wheel disc brakes, ABS and power locks. The LSi model upgrades the engine to the 2.5-liter with the 4-speed automatic transmission. The LS model has been discontinued. The 2.5GT sedan and wagon receive an updated bumper, grille and fog-light treatment. A limited edition Outback model is offered this year featuring leather trim, distinctive wheels, and gold accents. The 2.5-liter engine is standard in all Outback versions.
