Pontiac introduced the Vibe, a compact 5-door SUV, at the 2001 Los Angeles Auto Show. A flexible interior configuration allows flat folding front and rear passenger seats, with a maximum of 57.2 cu. ft. of cargo room. Rear chrome tie-downs can secure items such as bikes or furniture. The Vibe is powered by a 130-bhp/125 lb.-ft., 1.8L DOHC VVTL-i inline-4. The Vibe GT (introduced in Detroit) makes 180 bhp/130 lb.-ft. from the same engine and funnels power through a 6-speed manual. Both Vibe models ride on P265/40R18 tires with 18-inch alloy wheels. Pontiac claims 0-60 mph in just over 8 seconds for the Vibe GT.
