This Ferrari is the counterpoint to the wild and crazy F430. With restrained styling and a traditional front-mounted engine, the 575M is the logical descendant of the legendary 365GTB/4 Daytona. A 5.75L V-12 sends 515-bhp to the rear wheels via the F1 electronically actuated gearbox. This gearbox can be switched to a Sport mode for faster gear changes, left in the standard automatic mode for relaxed cruising, or set to a special low grip mode for slippery roads. Suspension damping is adjusted according to the gearbox shift mode. A special limited production Superamerica model (derived from the 575M) has an innovative power retracting targa roof for open air cruising. The V-12 also gets a power boost to 540-bhp, and propels the Superamerica to a claimed 199 mph top speed.
