The midsize E-Class is the core of the Mercedes lineup. As a result there is a wide model range to cover most needs. E-Class sedans are equipped with a 201-bhp 3.2L I-6 turbodiesel (E320 CDI), 268-bhp 3.5L V-6 (E350), and a 302-bhp 5.0L V-8 (E500). A 4Matic option provides AWD traction. Performance enthusiasts will prefer the E55 AMG with its 469-bhp 5.5L supercharged V-8. Transmissions include a 5-speed (E55 AMG only) or 7-speed automatic. Optional "designo" packages combine interior and exterior trim in a color coordinated theme.

What Changed:

The E320 sedan is replaced by the E350. A new 3.5L V6 delivering 268 hp is under the hood. A seven-speed automatic from the E500 sedan is standard.
