A spacious and practical alternative to an SUV, the V70 offers more performance than one might expect from a Volvo wagon. The V70 is based on the same platform as the midsize S60 sedan. Three models are available: V70 2.4, V70 2.5T, and the high performance V70 R. Engine choices include a 2.5L I-5 turbo (208-bhp or 300-bhp), and a 2.4L I-5 (168-bhp). The base V70 2.4 has a standard 5-speed manual or optional automatic, while the Geartronic® 5-speed automatic is available on the V70 2.5T. Enthusiasts will gravitate to the 300-bhp AWD V70 R, equipped with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed Geartronic®, Brembo® 4-piston caliper brakes, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Special blue instrument dials are unique to the V70 R. Dynamic Stability and Traction Control (DSTC), Bi-Xenon headlights, HU-850 6-disc in-dash CD audio system, and DVD navigation system are available.

What Changed:

V70 T5 Model dropped. Instant Traction (TM) feature added to AWD drive system. An optional six-speed automatic replaces the optional five-speed automatic on the S60 R.
