Acura finally gets a compact SUV slotted below the popular MDX. The new RDX is the first turbocharged vehicle in the Acura lineup and the first for any Honda vehicle in North America. A 240-bhp 2.3L I-4 turbo routes power to the SH-AWD system via a 5-speed automatic, which has Sequential SportShift manual control. The zoomy engine, with its torque output of 260 lb.-ft., should catch the attention of performance-oriented SUV buyers. An optional 410-watt 10-speaker audio system will even play DVD-Audio discs through eight separate channels. Safety features include four airbags, plus two side-curtain airbags.
