The midsize Canyon is an attractive pickup, but lacks the power to keep up with the segment leaders. A choice of a 185-bhp 2.9L I-4, or a 242-bhp 3.7L I-5, is available with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic. Both engines are available with 2WD or 4WD. A locking differential and traction control help the 2WD Canyon cope with slippery roads. Cab styles include Regular, Extended, and Crew Cabs. Buyers looking for better handling should get the Canyon with the lowered ZQ8 sport suspension. Properly equipped, the Canyon can tow up to 4,000 lbs.

What Changed:

Both engines have been upgraded. The 2.7L becomes a 2.9L with variable valve timing, 185hp and 190 lb-ft of torque. The 3.5L becomes a 3.7L with variable valve timing, 242 hp and 242 lb-ft of torque.
