Nissan
When it comes to providing everything you need for a complete family adventure experience, the Nissan Armada delivers once again in 2011 - with seating for up to eight people, room for their stuff, ample power to go and tow, plus an array of luxury amenities designed to get you there and back in comfort and style.
Following a number of enhancements for last year, the changes for 2011 model year include a renaming of two of the three available Armada trim levels. The Armada SV replaces the previous Armada SE, and the Armada SL replaces the previous Titanium model. The Armada Platinum model continues unchanged. All three models are offered in both 2-wheel and 4-wheel drive. Other refinements include the addition of a new Almond color interior, replacing the Stone interior.
The 2011 Nissan Armada is again offered with available Flexible Fuel Vehicle (FFV) technology, which allows drivers to use traditional gasoline or E85 Ethanol. All three Armada models are equipped with a standard 5.6-liter Endurance V8 engine rated at 317 horsepower and 385 lb-ft of torque, along with an advanced 5-speed automatic transmission, heavy-duty fully boxed ladder frame and comfortable double-wishbone suspension.
"Since its introduction in 2004, the stylish, powerful and roomy Nissan Armada has stood out among the crowded field of full-size SUVs," said Al Castignetti, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division, Nissan North America, Inc. The 2011 Armada continues to offer outstanding performance built on a foundation of strength and power. Every Armada features Nissan's rugged F-Alpha fully boxed frame, 4-wheel independent double-wishbone suspension and a refined 5.6-liter DOHC V8 engine, producing 317 horsepower @ 5,200 rpm and 385 lb-ft of torque @ 3,400 rpm. A unique gear set, variable lock-up torque converter and advanced A/T management are utilized for improved shifting and economy.
Armada is offered in two-wheel drive or with an available All-Mode 4-wheel drive system with Auto/2WD/4H/4LO modes, electronically controlled part-time transfer case and 3.35:1 4LO crawl gear ratio. Responsive braking is provided by a standard 4-wheel disc brake system with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA). Also standard are 2-wheel or 4-wheel limited-slip (ABLS) and a Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system (includes a deactivation switch). Along with the responsive independent suspension, SL and Platinum models offer a standard automatic self-leveling rear air suspension, which helps provide a level ride when towing or carrying heavy cargo.
Armada offers a 9,000-pound maximum towing capacity for SL and Platinum 4WD and 8,200 for 2WD models (when properly equipped).
