Kia

The Sportage carries into the 2016 model year with minor changes to simplify the line-up and add premium features. Offered in three trim levels: LX, EX and SX, the Sportage stands out in the compact CUV segment with cutting-edge design that doesn't compromise on space or utility. Changes for 2016 focus on standard content enhancements along with features offered within the various option packages. Notable is the EX, which adds standard leather trimmed seating surfaces this year.

The LX Popular Package adds a touchscreen display with integrated Rear Camera Display1 and auto on/off headlights to the existing equipment, which includes a rear spoiler, roof rails, trip computer, rear armrest with cup holders and illuminated sun visors. Along with leather seating surfaces, the EX adds as standard equipment Smart Key with push-button start. For 2016, the EX Premium Package adds the Infinity(R)2 Premium audio system, front fog lights, integrated turn signals in the heated outside mirrors along with a cooled glove box. Carryover features found in the EX Premium Package include panoramic sunroof, navigation and ventilated front seats. The SX is fully loaded, adding to the EX Premium Package a standard turbocharged engine, dual exhaust pipes, LED Daytime Running Lamps, LED tail lights, aluminum door-scuff plates, and unique wheels and grille design.

The 2016 Sportage continues to be offered with two engine choices: a 2.4-liter GDI inline-4 cylinder (LX and EX models) and the sportier 2.0-liter GDI turbocharged inline-4 cylinder (SX). The normally aspirated 2.4-liter engine produces 182 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and a maximum 177 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,000 rpm, while the 2.0-liter powerplant makes a rousing 260 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and a stout 269 lb.-ft. of torque from a low 1,850 rpm. All-wheel drive is available across all three trim levels and a six-speed automatic transmission is standard.
