What Changed

The Boxster is one of the most talked about new models of 1997. It is significant because it represents the first completely new sports car from Porsche in 19 years. The Boxster is a mid-engine roadster with an all-new water-cooled 24-valve 2.5-liter 6-cylinder boxer motor that produces 204hp. The Boxster is rear wheel drive and can be bought with either the standard 5-speed or the optional Tiptronic S system. The Boxster's top is electronically operated. Tires are 205/50ZR16 (front) and 225/50ZR16 (rear). 17-inch wheels are optional.
