The mid-sized, front-wheel-drive Zephyr is Lincoln's entry-level model. It is intended to draw first-time (younger) buyers to the Lincoln brand. The Zephyr offers clean exterior styling with modern lighting, a highly styled interior with a standard power leather seats, and other upscale interior trim appointements like aluminum and wood. For customization, optional features include a DVD-based navigation system and the unique THX-II certified audio system. Offered in only one mechanical configuration, the Zephyr is powered by 210hp version of Ford's Duratec 30 V6. A six-speed automatic transmission and 50-series Z-rated tires are notable standard features.
