BMW has provided the first look at its all-new 3-Series convertible. The new model eschews the classic soft convertible top for the more practical and vogue hardtop convertible. The top is made of lightweight steel and operates in 22 seconds. Similar to the coupe and sedan, convertible models are offered in 328i and 335i variants. The 328i is powered by a 230 hp, 3.0L inline six. The twin-turbocharged engine in the 335i is rated at 300 hp. The four-passenger 3-Series convertible is due to go on sale in early 2007.
