Since the hot-selling G35 helped revive Infiniti sales, the replacement had to build on its sports sedan credentials. Not surprisingly, the smooth 3.5L V-6 has over 300-bhp, which should place it as a segment leader in power. Transmission options remain unchanged: a 5-speed automatic or 6-speed manual. Automatic transmission-equipped cars with the Sport package now get magnesium paddle shifters. New multicolor gauges are brightly lit and easy to read. Textured aluminum interior trim incorporates Japanese "Washi" paper patterns. Aluminum suspension components and a stiffer chassis should enhance handling. Technology upgrades include push-button start, adaptive front headlights, rearview monitor, and intelligent cruise control with preview braking. Infiniti also included an optional upgraded Bose(R) audio system. The tough competition from BMW, Lexus, and Audi made an updated G35 essential for Infiniti to maintain its sales momentum.
An all-new G sedan bows for 2007. The succesful sedan features all-new styling inside and out. The G35 is offered in four models – G35, G35 Journey, G35x AWD, G35 6MT -- all powered by a fourth generation of Nissan's acclaimed VQ-series V6.
