Audi finally designed a luxury coupe that competes with the BMW 3-Series and Mercedes-Benz CLK, as well as the Infiniti G37. The new A5 is powered by the familiar 3.2L V-6 mated to a 6-speed manual or automatic. To improve weight distribution and handling, Audi located most of the engine behind front axle. Available in FWD or quattro models, the A5 is nearly as practical as the A4, but with the panache of a coupe. Audi claims the manual-equipped A5 runs the 0-100 km/h (62.5 MPH) sprint in 6.1 seconds, with a top speed limited to 250 km/h (155 MPH). Options include bi-xenon headlights, adaptive headlights, rearview camera, and wood interior trim. The S line sports package adds 18-inch alloy wheels, exclusive black, wood, or aluminum interior trim, sport suspension, and unique paint colors.
The A5 is an all-new compact coupe derived from the A4. The five-passenger A5 coupe is initially offered in A5 and S5 trim levels. A5 models are powered by a 265hp 3.2L V6, whereas the S5 features a 354 hp 4.2L V8. AWD is standard. Both models are offered with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.
