Chrysler methodically improved their popular minivans to ensure that they remain competitive with the Honda and Toyota competition. A wide variety of V-6 engines are available, including a 3.3L, 3.8L, and a new 4.0L. A new 6-speed automatic is standard with the 3.8L and 4.0L engines whereas the base 3.3L is mated to a 4-speed automatic. Three seating systems are offered in the product line. Base SE models have only a third row seat that folds in to the floor. Second 2nd row seats that folds flat in to the floor are standard on SXT models and optional and SE models. An optional seating system foregoes the fold-flat in the floor 2nd row for one that can swivel 180 degrees to face the rear. A removable table that fits in the 2nd row is available. The optional dual DVD system can play different movies on each screen. Other enhancements include a sliding center console, LED reading lamps, ambient LED lighting, and stain resistance seat fabric.
All new model for 2008. The Grand Caravan will be offered with three V6 powertrains, 3 interior configurations, and two trim levels (SE, SXT).
