As one of the most expensive sport utility vehicles on the planet, the G-Class is surprisingly innocuous. Originally designed for the Germany military in the 1970's, the G-Class has been transformed into a rugged SUV for civilians. Aimed at the well-heeled customer who wants no-excuses off-road capability, the G-Class offers luxury and power in a boxy, utilitarian package. Two models are available: the G500 Grand Edition (292-bhp/5.0L V-8), and the G55 AMG Grand Edition (469-bhp/5.5L supercharged V-8). Both engines are coupled to a 5-speed automatic. A full-time 4WD system splits torque 50:50 between the front and rear solid axles.

What Changed:

The G-class receives a new instrument cluster and steering wheel. The tail lights are revised.
