The Scion xD is a small five-door hatchback that serves as the entry-level model for the Scion brand. The xD is about twelve inches shorter than the larger xB model and lacks some of the surprising roominess of its sibling. With a smaller 1.8L four-cylinder engine, the xD excels in fuel economy with EPA ratings of 27/33 (manual transmission) versus 22/28 for the larger xB. Anti-lock brakes are standard, but traction control and stability control are optional on xD models. Scion vehicles are offered with a low fixed price, but numerous accessories can be purchased from the dealer to personalize the vehicle. Options include not only audio system and wheel upgrades, but also items like LED lighting and trim pieces.

What Changed:

The xD is a new model that effectively replaces the xA in the Scion lineup. Based on the Toyota Yaris it offers the same size and power as the first-generation Scion xA.
