The Boxster serves as the Porsche's entry-level vehicle. The Boxster is a mid-engined roadster powered by a flat-six engine. Two variations are offered: Boxster and Boxster S. The Boxsters 2.9L produces 255-bhp, whereas the 3.4L in the Boxster S produces 310. Both models are available with either a manual transmission or an optional 7-speed dual clutch manual. Large tires and standard stability control help keep the Boxster centered. A power-operated top retracts in 12 seconds at speeds up to 30 mph. A host of upgrades are available including an optional active suspension system and composite brake discs. The Boxster is great for spirited top-down motoring and is the most cost-effective path to Porsche ownership.
