The Golf GTI is the icon of sporty hatchbacks, and dates back to 1983. A 2.0L I-4 turbo puts out 200-bhp and 207 lb.-ft., which makes it the most powerful GTI ever. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual or the automatic DSG(TM) gearbox. The latest GTI has a multi-link independent rear suspension, so handling should be much improved over the classic models. An aggressive front fascia with a honeycomb grille shows that the GTI is all business, and distinguishes it from lesser Golfs. Interior upgrades include brushed metal trim, sport seats, and a 10-speaker CD audio system. The GTI is offered with both 2 side doors and 4 side doors.
