Although the GMC brand largely duplicates Chevrolet's truck products, the brand survived the axe during General Motors trip to bankruptcy court in 2009. After the successful introduction of the Acadia crossover, GMC expanded its SUV lineup with the midsize Terrain.
New or Significantly Altered Models
An all-new Acadia bows for the 2017 model year. The restyled model has smaller external dimensions, shedding almost 6 in of length and 3 in of width. On the inside, passenger volume is largely unchanged, but the new model has given up a bit of cargo space behind the third row. Curb weight is down by 700 lbs. or more. Powertrain choices now include a choice of four-cylinder and V6 engines.
