1997 Jaguar XK8
The XK8 (an all new model for 1997), replaces the XJS as Jaguar's sports car offering. Offered as a coupe or as a convertible, the XK8 features an all-new 4.0-liter V8 engine, the first ever for Jaguar. This V-8 is an all aluminum design with 4-valves per cylinder that produces 290hp and 284 lb-ft of torque. The transmission is an all-new 5-speed automatic with electronic control and two shift modes.

1997 Jaguar XJ6
A new longer wheelbase version of the XJ6 is offered for 1997. The XJ6 L adds five inches to length of the XJ6 bringing the vehicle length up to 202.8 (same as the Vanden Plas).
