The Impala is General Motors best selling car. With its medium-large size and moderate price, the Impala sits in a sweet spot within the sedan market. This is GM's mainstream sedan and Chevrolet is GM's mainstream brand. Reworked in 2006, the Impala features smooth, inoffensive styling and value. LS, LT, LTZ and SS trim levels are offered. The LS and LT models feature a 210hp 3.5L V6. Upgraded LT and LTZ models feature a 233hp 3.9L V6 and the performance-oriented SS model features a 303hp 5.3L small-block V8. All three powertrains feature a four-speed automatic and front-wheel drive.
A new 3.9L V6 replaces the 3900 series V6. Horesepower and torque drop to 233 hp and 240 lb-ft, respectively.
