The Honda Fit is a small five-passenger, five-door wagon with a surprising amount of interior room for its diminutive size. The Fit's maneuverable size and large flexible interior are perfect for urban dwellers. Compared to the Honda Civic sedan, the Fit is almost 16 inches shorter in length, but only gives up about 3 inches of combined legroom. The large rear cargo area measures 20.6 cubic feet. Fold the rear seat backs down and the space increases to 57.3 cubic feet. The rear seat cushions also fold up creating a large rear seat area for bikes or similar tall objects. The standard 1.5l four-cylinder engine is competitive, but the Fit is somewhat limited by 5-speed transmissions when 6-speed units are becoming common. Like other vehicles in this segment, the Fit utilizes cost-cutting features like rear drum brakes and steel wheels. Competitive vehicles from Hyundai and Kia avoid these measures in the same price range.
The Fit Sport wears a revised front bumper and grille.
