The Scion xD is a smaller five-door hatchback model with more traditional styling than its sibling the xB. The xD is about twelve inches shorter than the larger xB model and lacks some of the surprising roominess of its sibling. The xD is very close in size to the Toyota Yaris 5d. With a smaller 1.8L four-cylinder engine, the xD has better fuel economy with EPA ratings of 27/33 (manual transmission) versus 22/28 for the larger xB. Scion vehicles are typically offered in one trim level with fixed no-haggle pricing. Any optional items like alloy wheels, stereos, performance and trim upgrades are exclusively available through the dealer.

What Changed:

The XD gains additional safety equipment. The instrument panel has minor appearance changes.
