With the introduction of the second generation models, the BMW 1-Series coupe becomes the 2-Series coupe. Compared to the prior model, the 2-Series has grown significantly larger adding 1-2 inches in length, width and height. Two models were introduced for the US market: the 228i powered by a four-cylinder turbo, and the M235i which equips an inline six-cylinder engine.
BMW is adding a hatchback variant of the 3-Series. The 3-Series Gran Turismo has fold-down rear seating and flexible cargo area. US models will be offered in 328i and 335i trim levels.
The wagon variant of the 3-Series sedan returns to the US market. Only the 328i xDrive model is offered in the US market initially. A 4-cylinder diesel model is due mid-year.

The i3 is an all-new electric vehicle from BMW. BMW anticipates a range of 80-100 miles. An optional range extending gas engine will double that range.
The X5 enters its third generation for 2014. While the overall length has increased by two inches, most other dimensions remain largely unchanged. Styling updates are evolutionary. Engine choices include gas and diesel powered inline sixes, and a 445-bhp turbocharged V8.
The Gran Coupe gains a M6 performance model. The M6 Gran Coupe equips a higher-output 560-bhp 4.4l V8 engine mated to a six-speed manual or 7-speed automated manual transmission.
