Although the profile of the hood and roof is familiar, the new model wears a number of styling details that are a break with tradition. The most notable styling changes are from the b-pillar where Corvette loses its glass bubble back in favor of a hard roofline and rear windows. The Chevrolet Impala is all new for 2014. Compared to the prior generation, the new model is about an inch longer in wheelbase and overall length. Styling is more aggressive overall with a long sloping c-pillar and pronounced rear fender lines. Three powertrains are offered for 2013 including a 2.5l four-cylinder engine, a 2.4l four-cylinder gas/electric hybrid and a 303-bhp V6 engine. The Impala remains front-wheel-drive.

Extended cab models now feature four front-hinged doors and crew cab models have a much larger interior. Powertrain choices include a 4.3l V6, 5.3l V8, and a 6.2l V8. Trim levels are largely unchanged, with work truck (WT), LT and LTZ models, but a new High Country trim level is available on Crew Cab models only.
